چکیده
Bio-based chemicals are seen as a potential stepping-stone towards more sustainable chemical industry. However, while bio-based routes already available for various organic alcohols and acids, the direct production of aromatic compounds has been difficult so far. Recently, first process important aniline realized. The produces via two-stages: first, sugar is fermented by Corynebacterium Glutamicum to aminobenzoic acid, which then catalytically decarboxylated aniline. In this study, we present prospective Life Cycle Assessment evaluate environmental compared fossil-based production. Our results suggest that could reduce global warming impacts from cradle-to-grave 35–69% relative production, depending on type biomass feedstock. also substantially increase eutrophication acidification, trade-off commonly observed processes. Thus, novel route promising expands scope aromatics.

Hydrocarbon bio-jet fuel from bioconversion of poplar biomass: life cycle assessment
BACKGROUND Bio-jet fuels compatible with current aviation infrastructure are needed as an alternative to petroleum-based jet fuel to lower greenhouse gas emissions and reduce dependence on fossil fuels. Cradle to grave life cycle analysis is used to investigate the global warming potential and fossil fuel use of converting poplar biomass to drop-in bio-jet fuel via a novel bioconversion platfor...
متن کاملConsequential Life Cycle Assessment of Nitrogen Fertilisers Based on Biomass – a Swedish perspective
The production of mineral nitrogen represents a large fossil energy input in Swedish agriculture. However, mineral nitrogen can be produced in the Haber-Bosch synthesis, with input from renewable energy. This could lower the dependency on fossil energy and the emissions of greenhouse gases in agricultural production. The aim of this study was to investigate the land use, energy use and greenhou...
متن کاملLife-Cycle Assessment for the Production of Bioethanol from Willow Biomass Crops via Biochemical Conversion*
We conducted a life-cycle assessment (LCA) of ethanol production via bioconversion of willow biomass crop feedstock. Willow crop data were used to assess feedstock production impacts. The bioconversion process was modeled with an Aspen simulation that predicts an overall conversion yield of 310 liters of ethanol per tonne of feedstock (74 gal per US short ton). Vehicle combustion impacts were a...
متن کاملProspective Environmental Life Cycle Assessment of Nanosilver T-Shirts
A cradle-to-grave life cycle assessment (LCA) is performed to compare nanosilver T-shirts with conventional T-shirts with and without biocidal treatment. For nanosilver production and textile incorporation, we investigate two processes: flame spray pyrolysis (FSP) and plasma polymerization with silver co-sputtering (PlaSpu). Prospective environmental impacts due to increased nanosilver T-shirt ...
متن کاملSynthesis of Bio-aromatics from Black Liquors Using Catalytic Pyrolysis
Bio-aromatics (benzene, toluene, xylenes, BTX) were prepared by the catalytic pyrolysis of six different black liquors using both in situ and ex situ approaches. A wide range of catalysts was screened and conditions were optimized in microscale reactors. Up to 7 wt % of BTX, based on the organic fraction of the black liquors, was obtained for both the in situ and ex situ pyrolysis (T = 500-600 ...
